Not Gone, Just Silent

Hey guys! Long time no see! 
I have had very rough as well as exciting 2018. Early in the year, i lost my nanny to a stroke and fall in her home 
It was very difficult as i was there in the hospital for her final moments. I miss her dearly and i don't think i have subconsciously recovered yet from the loss. Around that same my family found out my sister was expecting her first baby. My niece will be born in the fall and i will become an aunt

Been searching for work and have had no luck. The only option I see for working is relocating but without funds i can't do that...so I'm stuck.
I have been out taking photos a few times I was at Reptila Zoo for a very special venomous snake show and most recently on June 10th i was in Niagara Falls, New York at the Thunder over Niagara Airshow. On Saturday June 16th, i will be meeting up with MorningIrbis at the Toronto Zoo to photograph the 2 baby rhinos, arctic wolf pups and 1 week old Charlie, the zoo's newest edition to the gorilla troop!

She is adorable!I am upset at myself for not staying active on here. But ever since I got home from Australia and even before, the drive just died. I don't think i am in the best state of mind and my organization and confidence are just not there. I am grateful to those who still follow me here. 
I will try to find the spark i once had because i don't want to give up after spending 5 years training in the field.

October Update - Fall, Pets Commissions

Hello everyone!
Happy Inktober!
I hope you all will enjoy this month of art! I actually did do a piece yesterday with copics of a basking shark but that's likely all i will do for the time being.
October begins with a sombre pet commission for my former babysitter of her friend's dog who passed away She hopes to give the portrait to her friend at Thanksgiving dinner next Monday so i have a tight timeline to finish it. I also will be updating the last YCH i did with the final version as it is complete.
Once the current portrait is done, i will be opening my commissions on here Expect a journal by next Wednesday at the latest.
In the meantime, i am still working on my Alberta Photos and completing some old projects i haven't touched. Keep an eye on my Instagram to see posts on those works!
I also will be returning to the animal shelter i did a co-op at 7 years ago! I'll be able to see all my friends as well as the cute animals up for adoption.

September Update - Alberta and More!

NEW Airshow London Photos from this past weekend on my Facebook Page! [link]
Over 100 photos of military jets, parachuters, stunt planes and demonstration teams! There was a twilight show and a regular show and i bought my first photo pass for an event ever! It was a great experience and so help ful on such a hot day
Many of these images will be added to dA at a later date but this is where you can see everything all together right now! Enjoy!
Next project is Alberta trip photos!

I was able to pick up my canvas print of my winning Eagle Photo from Henry's Camera Store!

Tomorrow morning i fly out to Edmonton Alberta with my older sister. My trip to Antigua at the beginning of August was cancelled. I gave my ticket to my dad when he was laid off from work. He and my mum got a well deserved holiday together and my sister and i decided we would plan a trip together. We'll be going to several National and Provincial parks with the hopes of seeing lots of wildlife, glaciers, lakes and mountains. We'll also be visiting a childhood friend in Edmonton who we haven't seen in about 12-15 years!

I'll try to get those photos up quickly to initiate a full return here. Its been hard to find the motivation but i must.
The weekend after i return home will be the London Airshow, which looks to be the biggest air show in the province! I definitely need all my cards cleared off
I'll likely be attending 2 days at the show. I might also get a photo pass as I've heard its difficult to be right at the show line. This beautiful jet will be there and I'm really looking forward to getting more clear shots with better conditions:

I will be focusing on pet portraits and larger scale works. As much as i enjoy ACEOs and other small commission types, i don't want to do them exclusively. I'll also be going through my art to try and find pieces to sell.

August Update

Hello again!
I know it isn't August yet, but since I'll be away, i thought i should post this now.
First, I am very happy to say I won my first photography contest! It was from the Zoo trip I went on with Henry's Camera store! I'll show you guys my prize once i receive it which won't be for a couple weeks.
In other art news, I managed to get out camping on Lake Simcoe with my dad. We saw red foxes, Osprey, garter snakes, toads and even discovered an awesome reptile park near Orillia that features local species. There were many i hadn't seen before and they do a lot of work to help protect the different species in the area. I even got to hold a fox snake (one of my favorites) and an adorable hog nose
I wanted to help them this past Saturday to catch turtles for ministry statistics, but I had to work...of course
I am currently working on a colored pencil tutorial with a red fox as the subject. I started this project in Australia and am close to finishing it (drawing wise). I still need to compile it and write the text but i really hope some of you will find it useful
I am also editing photos often. Posting them has been delayed as usual but I've got a lot of material now i can post quickly. I just need the drive.
My job at the grocery warehouse is ending this Friday. I'm kind of sad to go but also not. The environment was really wearing me down and stressing me out. My parents even said it looked like i was losing weight (which at only 85 pounds is quite worrisome). So I'm still looking for something new and hopefully closer to home...and not on the damn weekends! Its so hard to be social when you gotta start work for 6am on both Saturday and Sunday XD
The day after i am done work, I'll be flying to Antigua for some vacation time as i mentioned in my last update. We hope to snorkel and visit Montserrat which is nearby. Its turtle season down there too!
