I was not in a very "artsy" mood today. I was tired, but I knew I had to get things done. But sadly, no matter how hard i tried i couldn't concentrate on pencil work. I guess I was a little bored of it to say the least
So i decided to try watercolors and India ink! I am very happy about this. I used a wash to get the sky colors blended like that.
I few things i learned about watercolor painting today is, you need to plan ahead, know the materials and practice hard. I did about three washes on scrap paper before starting. I also looked for a good reference and studied it for roughly an hour and a half before drawing on the paper (i only had one shot since it was my last good sheet of larger watercolor paper).
It was very fun to do overall My dad really liked it (and he is hard to please lol )
