Little Flower

Little flower, tired and weak
Shame that you have no words to speak
Bent over like a sad old man-
But he can do more than you can-
And dying like the rest of the earth
To wait in darkness for rebirth
A petal falls and the wind sighs
The petal is blown to the darkening skies
The rest soon follow as they lose faith
Carried off by the silent wraith
Now the little flower is bare and cold
Never to have its story told
An icy frost hardens the fertile ground
Leaving no more safety to be found
The little flower, exhausted by the night
It has no will left to fight
The flower fades with little pain
And waits in silence for spring's rain
