TA's Endangered Art Project

The purpose of this project is to create awareness for Endangered Species. In each month of 2012, I will (hopefully) draw, along with others, an animal that is labelled worldwide as an endangered species.

In the description I will include information on the species and list the reasons it is endangered or threatened.
I will not draw species I have already done (Amur Tiger, Maned Wolf, Grevy's Zebra).
At the end of each month, depending on the # of participants, i will do a journal feature. If the participants are few, then i will save it for the end of the year.

They use the IUCN Lists. MAKE SURE to look under the STATUS tab for animals of interest.

Rules:
-The species must be endangered, vulnerable or threatened (globally or regionally)
-Species can be plant or animal
-Can use any medium
-Does not matter if in black and white or color
-If you have a busy month you can switch that month's animal to something easier or double up in a later month
-Must do at least 12 Drawings to call it a success lol
-You can do the same animals in my list or another participants, just try to switch it up each month for the feature
-Plan ahead with the species (its easier that way and you all have a month and a bit to decide)
-List its name, scientific name, status and reasons why it is endangered in the artist's comments. Also include the month it is for.

*Remember quality is not everything. The point is to create awareness!

I bought a new lens.... [link]

NIKON AF-S VR 70-300 4.5-5.6G IF-ED!

It was on sale...it ended Sunday and i couldn't go then...and the air show is tomorrow...I just went in for a battery and memory cards! I swear!

This is what happens when i go to a camera store when there's a sale...That was how i got my D7000 too

BASIC INFO
I am a 21 year old Canadian living in Ontario.
I have had a passion for art ever since I was little. I have tried several different types of media and art forms over the years, but i found my favorites are traditional art (graphite, colored pencil and watercolor) and photography.
I am always looking to improve upon my work and appreciate constructive feedback!

I am currently in the Visual and Creative Arts program in College to expand my horizons with traditional and digital media. I have completed Year 2, and will be continuing into the optional 3rd year. After I am thinking of transferring my credits to get a Masters in Visual Arts.
